Something old, something new… Something ENTIRELY different.
Each year brings fresh ideas and new takes on getting hitched, especially since the pandemic has forced weddings to change and adapt. Obviously, we’re so here for non-traditional wedding trends, it’s our bread and butter!
A lot of traditional are bright and airy, almost angelic. But what about the more alternative couples who prefer to live life on the darker side?!
This styled shoot will tickle aaaall the spots in your brain for exactly that.
Deep, striking colours lay out the alternative theme of jewel-toned boldness. Heavy velvet reds, rich silky turquoise, and splashes of pink and gold make up this daring colour pallet.
A lot of the striking colour inspiration was taken from this unique wedding venue itself, The Sessions House, the perfect setting for an alternative wedding, not least because of it’s gothic style decor and freestanding bath in the boutique bridal suite!
The Sessions House lays the mood perfectly for an alternative wedding with its dark painted walls and quirky décor in every corner. Owned by a husband and wife team, their mission is to restore this old courthouse into what’s now an incredible, alternative wedding venue.
When a styled shoot is built around the chosen supplier’s styles, you just know it’s going to be a perfectly curated mess of inspiration.
The gorgeous red, green and pink bouquet features a couple of feathers to add that extra edge and shape. Provided and styled by Rose&Thorns, who are spectacular at the “something different” when it comes to blooms.
The bride’s alternative bride’s style in this shoot is some of the best we’ve ever seen! I mean, can you get a load of this full-length, embroidered tattoo veil by the incredible Lauren Mizon?! Is it any wonder she is booked out until November 2022?! We’re huge fans of bespoke embroidery on wedding veils but this alternative version of black on white is a real showstopper! In fact, we loved ALL of the accessories in this alternative wedding shoot, especially the statement feather earrings by Victoria Louise Accessories!
And what’s more alternative than a bride who chooses not to wear a traditonal dress and goes for a jumpsuit instead? We love the simple elegance of this one by Rose Savage Bridal. The chiffon frill and sparkling bodice pairs perfectly with the disco ball décor, styled by Pretty Quirky Hire and R&R Weddings and Events.
The gorgeous real-life couple models were specifically chosen for this shoot, and were one of the first suppliers to be chosen. Ellie and Jake’s personal style and real love seriously shines through in every shot.
A lot of the chosen suppliers are either just starting out in the wedding industry, or are coming back to it after having children. The venue itself is newly renovated and currently an on-going project. If you’re looking for a venue that’s new to the industry and hasn’t been “done before”, this is the one for you.
