Rosie & Archie’s city wedding was as relaxed as they come with their nearest and dearest. Held at 100 Barrington, a versatile events space which you can absolutely make your own (you know we love that) and they absolutely did, with a chilled-out modern city vibe that was perfect for this couple!

What started as a ‘friends first’ love story was quickly solidified by fireworks, quite literally, when on bonfire night Archie took some very not-so-subtle hints from Rosie herself.

"We met through mutual friends and it was some years later that we went for 'friendly' drinks just the two of us. We got on well and I promptly asked Archie to join me for fireworks night.”

It was a banging start to this beautiful couple’s relationship and after a drunken kiss, in front of all of their friends, they just knew that they were going to be so much more.

Their engagement was obstacles and odd behaviour galore, exactly how it rolls for a lot of couples, and it took place over the pandemic months. After a day of planting seedlings, which the couple had brought home from 2 weeks of isolating with Archie’s parents, Rosie was exhausted.

I had been cutting up twigs for ages and clearing the garden, that summer's evening Archie suggested a 'sunset' walk. He insisted. I'd had an inkling that Archie was going to propose”.

The beautiful Norwood Park was the location and as the sun was setting over the perfect skyscape of London Archie got down on one knee and popped the question.

For Rosie and Archie, it was all about the party and it was important to them to have all their loved ones there. So, after having a small intimate service at Lambeth Town Hall it was 100 Barrington where they partied the night away and celebrated their love for one another with 130 of their family and friends.

Both photography and flowers played a big role in their day.

“Manon was perfect and took the most gorgeous photos of us and our wedding guests, we’re lucky to have those photos forever”. And the flowers: “Archie and I decided that flowers were incredibly important to us quite far down the wedding planning process. Not only did it add colour to our venue it also made the occasion feel more special and smarter.”

When it came to traditions the couple mixed it up; Rosie wore a beautiful white relaxed gown with shoulder ruffle details…WE LOVE! Both the bride and groom and their best man and maid of honour did speeches. They kept the first dance and the cutting of the cake in their day but spent the night before in their home and chose to ditch the ‘giving away’ and walked down the aisle together.

“Dancing with my friends and family, and obviously marrying the love of my life!” was ultimately Rosie’s favourite part of the wedding day, and why wouldn’t it be?! And, like most couples knowing you’ve ‘pulled off the day you dreamt of is always going to be an achievement in itself.

“The realisation (and subsequent relief) that we’d pulled it off whilst living apart for 6 months on and off prior to our wedding day was a pretty incredible feeling.”

And the advice for couples currently planning their own wedding day…

“Get a date in, book your venue and photographer early, it’s the first thing you should do! Don’t feel guilty about not inviting people if you can’t afford it/ you’re at capacity with the venue. Make sure you do things for yourselves, not your guests. Remember everyone should and will be so happy just to be there with you – even if you got married in a car park.”
