There’s beauty in simplicity. That, even at Un-Wedding, we can’t deny.

We’ve featured some seriosly cool weddings and inspo; purely pink elopement, campfire ceremony in Italy, styling with a tattooed veil… All with their own, extra aspects that really set apart from the traditional white wedding we see in western culture.

But what if you’ve got a fancy for a bit of the classic romance and delicacy, but still want a banging party? What if you’re leaning toward a traditionalist-style day, but also want to satisfy that desire for that little bit of something different - that little bit of Un-Wedding

Simply put: People, couples, and even suppliers sometimes think you have to choose 1 lane or style for your wedding. The rebels among the wedding world say YOU DON’T!

This styled shoot, captured by Emma Wilkinson, is the perfect hybrid of gentle, traditional romance and modern, elevated glam - a fun, gorgeous mix of two styles.

Gorgeous, pastel table setting contrasted by the strong black table cloth

Set in Saltmarshe Hall in Howden, the Morning Room was chosen as the perfect backdrop for this monochrome and luxe pastel shoot. The soft, natural light that pours through the Morning Room’s huge bay window elevates the carefully crafted pastel floral display by Walter + Blossom.

The gorgeous simplicity of the room allows the florals and styling to do all the talking - a perfect background for any style.

“Around every corner was another perfect spot for Emma to shoot Kezia and Jordan”

Choosing a theme for your day can be so difficult when you’ve fallen for several… This shoot perfectly displays that you don’t have to stick with just one theme. Using monochrome as the basis, making black the focal colour,

Beautifully soft pastel cake, decorated with pastel flowers, and strongly contrasted with one pitch black flower included

An insanely beautiful, draping floral display down a sweeping staircase. Bride and groom share a private kiss behind the display

Monochrome was the initial basis for this shoot style, making black the focal colour. But a mix of soft pastel lilacs and peaches were expertly tied in to really raise the palette, giving it much more depth and interest.

The table setting overflowed with different heights and textures, elevated by a black table cloth. The mix of styles and colours gives it such an elegant look, but still has a gorgeous, playful feeling to it brought in by the wildflower pastels.

This shoot consisted of two separate looks, vibes and styles. The goal was to have a clear day vibe, and a separate evening look. It was also important to display that just the little, simple alterations can entirely transform a vibe.

While the table has a plethora of textures, the aim was to bring that vibe into the outfits - without going overboard. Both of Kezia’s styled looks featured a silk slip, bringing continuity through from the day look, to the evening look.

That bridal crown though… Paired with and topping off perfectly the simple, elegant wedding dress

The day outfit held a long, delicate silk slip dress with a tulle overskirt in white. The evening look was a silk mini with a fun, modern feather trim, paired with a structured blazer.

Saltmarshe Hall also lent itself perfectly to the evening inspiration with the library and the bar. Modern, luxe, and fun.

When it comes to choosing your wedding day theme, sticking with one style or vibe isn’t always necessary. Have your cake, and eat it!
