One Love: Urban-Boho Micro Wedding Inspo Shoot In South London

Photography by Lex Fleming

Words, Styling + Concept by The Hullabaloo Collective

In the midst of a global pandemic, we really wanted our micro-wedding inspo shoot to show that love is love, and whether you’re getting married in a grand hotel or in the back garden, the end result is the same: a couple who tied the knot!

More commonly referred to as elopements, intimate micro-weddings are the future of the wedding industry as more couples will be opting for mini celebrations to keep in line with Covid19 government restrictions.

The name One Love was inspired by the amazing ‘Coral Heart’ street art created by Louis Masai  which used to be on the graffiti wall by Tooting Market.  The ‘Coral Heart’ was a part of his ‘save the coral reef’ series, still present on walls of many countries.  Louis signs all of his artwork with ‘One Love’ and this is something The Hullabaloo Collective passionately stands for love for all, regardless of background, gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation. Celebrating diversity means everything to me.

wanted to show Boho in a different light. It doesn’t necessarily have to be whimsical or festival/barn in style, it can fit into an urban setting too!

Our gorgeous bride wore a beautiful sequin bridal gown as well as a two-piece balloon sleeve blouse with wide palazzo pants by fellow House Of Love members  Poppy Perspective, 2 completely different looks that work equally as well in the setting. Phiney, also made the matching face mask which I’m sure most bridal designers will do upon your request.

Paige’s stunning headpieces were by The Lucky Sixpence and carefully selected to reflect the cool, modern boho look we were going for.

We loved the look that Rachel from Makeup In Orangeries created to compliment the looks, striking but totally wearable.

Our dapper groom wore his own suit and teamed this with a floral face mask from Bombini Studio

We chose a warm retro colour palette of blush pinks, oranges, yellows and baby blues and this was echoed in the florals, table dressing, stationery, and shoes.

Catherine’s floral style was perfect for what we had envisioned and the floral cloud above the sweetheart table totally transformed the courtyard!

Bronya made a simple buttercream wedding cake for two, adorned with edible flowers was a perfect addition for this micro-wedding. Not only did cake look exceptional, but it was a real cake that the couple got to cut!

All the beautiful props are available to hire  through me, The Hulabaloo Collective. We used them to transform our intimate space, Goldfinch, a little cocktail bar in Tooting.

We created a sweetheart table using a couple of peacock chairs, retro rya rugs, a vintage table cloth, colourful glassware and crockery. The overall look simple and stylish.

We finished the day by taking a stroll around Tooting and getting some gorgeous shots of our lovely couple to show that it doesn’t matter where you tie the knot as long as the memory is dear to you both - like the little cocktail bar where you had your first date 😉

It was awesome to work with Jay & Lex are fellow Wedding Breakfast Club members and to get creative with so many wedding suppliers who are on hand to create the wedding of your dreams no matter how big or small that may be! See below for a full list of all suppliers who took part and give them a follow in Insta! If you are a London bride planning your wedding then why not hit them up to see how they can help you create your vision!
