Sarah Barker is an independent bridalwear brand, offering a made to order collection and bespoke design service. With a modern, pared back style and exquisite silk fabrics our design aesthetic is the perfect base to create your own wedding look.
Our Fundamentals capsule collection comprises 10 key garments: essential silhouettes available as they are for an elegant simplicity, or customised to suit your own personal taste and vision. These styles feel beautifully luxurious in our standard fabric of heavy, white silk, which you are welcome to swap out for a different colour or even a whole new fabric option.
Our bespoke service allows you to craft your own dream outfit from scratch. Sarah will work closely with you to create a design using your ideas and inspiration points. First we will make a cotton calico toile for you to try on, giving the opportunity to develop the design further and to fit it specifically to your body. Then we will create your outfit in the fabric of your choice and go through one final fitting to make sure everything is perfect before adding the finishing touches. This is the ideal pathway for those who can’t quite find exactly what they want in the conventional world of mainstream bridalwear, and for those who feel off-the-peg dresses just don’t cater to their needs.
Inclusivity Is at the Heart of What We Do
We have a beautiful private studio in North London where we host our design meetings and fittings. We are proud to be a queer friendly space and welcome all gender identities; away from the plate glass windows and heteronormative preconceptions of high-street boutiques we hope everyone can feel at home. The second floor studio is inaccessible for some clients or their entourage, in which cases we are more than happy to accommodate home visits for fittings or design consultations.
With a degree in fashion and 15 years as a pattern maker in the London fashion industry Sarah is passionate about fit and function. Seeing that the mass produced, generic bridalwear assortment available just didn’t suit every bride she set out to create something more contemporary and personal. Her eponymous brand stands for comfort, luxury and celebrating the individual.
