Hello! I am Rose Popay a multi- disciplined artist with a passion for capturing your life as art! Born in 1974 in the artistic heart of Bath, England, to a family that brought art and performance to the streets, “I've been injecting creativity into life for over 20 years. With a background in live art, comedy and performance, I bring a touch of magic to any event…. especially weddings oozing with love and beauty!
Options for how I can capture your wedding day AND entertain your guests:
1-Fine Art Acrylics on Canvas: I'll create a detailed painting of you and the scene in approximately 5/6 hours, capturing the essence of your wedding, a modern day masterpiece with you as the feature!
2-Collaborative Wedding Painting: Your guests join in the creative fun, adding their own touches to the painting. I provide fine detail and structure to the artwork, and invite/gently force guests to add their mark..this is such fun for your guests to participate…in a way only they could!
3-Quick Guest Portraits: I can create quick guest portraits as my main service or as an addition to a wedding canvas painting. Your guests will love being captured in pen and ink. A5 or A4 for them to take home and treasure.
4-Collage of the Day illustrative Canvas: I'll draw and paint elements of your special day (with no guest involvement) resulting in an exciting personalised illustration. This option allows me to capture the highlights of your day in a beautiful illustrative collage in pen and inks.
5-Or a combo eg a wedding painting and a few hours of guest portraits.
Comedic and Theatrical Touches and Nude Portraits!
In addition to my artistic skills, I can bring a playful and theatrical twist to your event. I can entertain as a larger-than-life character, such as Banksy's mum, a Georgian, or an eccentric artist in a paint-splattered frock and palette hat. Adding a comedy twist to your celebration. If you really want a laugh I can even do my 'nude' portraits.- your guests stay dressed but I can use my imagination and artistic licence to mentally undress the guest/muse! I do a good likeness of their head/shoes and then draw them totally starkers!!! soooo much laughing with this!! ... Of course, I can also stick to more traditional art and dress if that's your preference.
