Somethin' Good Is Gonna Happen... THE UN-WEDDING SHOW IS BACK!
That’s right!
THE UN-WEDDING SHOW IS BACK on 4th + 5th April 2020 and this time we are full of the joys of Spring! Who’s with us?
We are delighted to announce that we have found a new home for our ever-popular London event, The Yard @ Shoreditch which we urge you to keep in mind as the perfect blank canvas for your own East London wedding. The not too big, not too small, wide-open space is exactly what we were looking for - a place to put our own stamp on and we know that this is what many modern couples want these days #SayNo ToConveyorBeltWeddings
So what’s the inspiration? Let me tell you!
Do you know how I LOVE to work exclusively with my beloved Book Of Love directory suppliers? Well, Becky + Christina of Paper To Lace bridal were telling me how well their ‘Cloudbusting’ cape had done at the first show in February 2019. It’s a beautiful full-length lace cape and they were planning to make a T-shirt version for the September show. I really loved the Kate Bush reference and the fact that our brides and been so receptive to Becky + Christina’s adorable designs and the rest is history!
So yeah, our starting point was the childhood nostalgia and imagery conjured up in one of our favourite songs, a blue sky backdrop was a must and we wanted to make sure our bride was wearing garments that she could really move in and create pretty silhouettes. Our bridal designers Paper To Lace and Poppy Perspective made bespoke pieces especially for the shoot ALL of which they will be showcasing at THE UN-WEDDING SHOW on 4th + 5th April @ The Yard, Shoreditch.
Boss lady Carina of Powder Blue Artistry aced 4 different looks for us to really have fun with the theme. I love the creativity that Carina brings to the table and we all fell in love with the delicate pearls placed under the eye, in the hair and on the hands, so simple but so effective and playful.
One of my favourite looks of the day has to be our ‘more is more is more is more’ look where Carina really went to town with poppin’ eyes, cheeks and lips to go along with our GIANT BOW and puffball sleeves!
You can meet Carina at THE UN-WEDDING SHOW on the 4th + 5th April 2020 and talk through your ideas whether it be less is more or more is more!
Whilst on the topic of ‘more is more is more is more’ let’s hear it for the most insanely beautiful florals EVER!
I was really excited to be working with Jess from Fluoresse for the first time. Jess joined our Book Of Love last year before exhibiting at THE UN-WEDDING SHOW in September and her enchanting displays blew everyone away!
I knew I wanted this campaign shoot to be floral-heavy as our last one was so minimal and given the time of year we really want to burst into Spring and make people feel happy! I’d been feeling particularly inspired by Our Lady De Guadalupe florals, the way they are so bold and they encase the Virgin Mary who is often standing in front of a cloudy sky or landscape. Jess has an obsession with Catholic Kitsch and was keen to create something that would bring our inspiration bang up to date!
I still can’t get over the intensity of the colours and the textures of the florals that Jess chose. What an imagination!! Make sure you stop by the Fluoresse flower bar at THE UN-WEDDING SHOW on 4th + 5th April!
We were honoured to work with yet another of our Book Of Love directory newbies on this shoot - Phiney from Poppy Perspective. Those who came to THE UN-WEDDING SHOW in September would have seen the launch of Poppy Perspective’s first collection and oh boy did you guys LOVE IT! We were particularly taken by Phiney’s luxurious fabrics and interesting laces and we knew that we would love to work more closely with her.
We fell in love with the angel sleeves on the beaded Nell dress and Phiney lovingly designed a bespoke bridal blouse to go with her over-sized highrise pants to give an ultra-modern, super-comfortable jumpsuit look.
We are excited to welcome back Poppy Perspective at THE UN-WEDDING SHOW on 4th + 5th April 2020 and this time we will have a designated dressing space for any brides to try things on at the show!
We teamed this up with the AMAZING ball and chain bridal bag from Ashley Wild Bridal because we think it’s one of the coolest accessories we have ever seen! Unfortunately, Ashley won’t be at THE UN-WEDDING SHOW but the bag is available to pre-order online!
Last but not least, we need to give props to our hero of the day - Jason Williams Photography! I’ve worked with Jason a few times now and he really is not only a cracking photographer, a problem solver who is full of enthusiasm and ideas… just the kinda guy you want as your photographer! We can’t wait to have Jason back at THE UN-WEDDING SHOW on 4th + 5th April 2020 so make sure to stop by and tell him about your plans. We’re sure once you meet him you are gonna wanna book him!
