Contemporary Post-Wedding Shoot In Stockholm

Photography by Liam Warton

We all know about pre-wedding shoots/engagement shoots which have been on the rise for a few years now but how about a post-wedding shoot? I wasn’t really sure what to expect when this submission landed in my inbox but I have to say it is quite possibly one of the most fresh and inspiring shoots that i have ever seen. Liam Warton describes his photography as ‘creative, experimental, analogue with an abundance of colour’ and says that ‘wedding photography is just photography at the end of the day and it is the role of the photographer to always strive to push boundaries and to create unique works.’

Hami from Tokyo and Sven from northern Sweden both work as designers in Stockholm with a keen eye for art and design. For their wedding they decided to escape the big city, instead choosing an intimate ceremony in Sven’s home town - surrounded by close family and friends. On their arrival back in Stockholm they embarked on a photographic voyage together with Australian photographer Liam Warton (who is based in Stockholm) for a creative post-wedding shoot.

For them, it was important to create something different to the classic wedding photos we see… something they wouldn’t cringe over when showing friends but rather something they could hang on their walls as a piece of art.

Liam’s goal when collaborating with his couples is to capture the essence of their relationship and personalities in a modern and sometimes provocative way and the result, as you can see, is quite simply breathtaking.
