What Does Pantone's Colour Of The Year Mean For Wedding Trends In 2024?
Written by Helen-Louise Dudney
For all you nearlyweds who are going to become newlyweds in 2024 Pantone revealed their colour of the year as Peach Fuzz! So what does that mean for wedding trends in 2024? Everything in peach? Not quite.
Now don’t get me wrong I think a peach suit would look cool AF, but just because it’s a trend, wait for it… you don’t have to choose it as the colour scheme for your wedding.
Mark Twain said “There is no such thing as a new idea”. But to get ahead of the trends, it’s good to know what the current trends are and where they are heading, so based on what we’ve seen from our modern, unique suppliers in the industry at The Un-Wedding shows, here are OUR predictions for the wedding trends in 2024 based on what we’ve been seeing at The Un-Wedding Shows.
Playful Florals
Modern wedding florists are artists! From flower clouds to installations filled with seasonal florals and foliage, 2024 looks to continue what we saw at the end of last year. Now your wedding flowers aren’t just small arrangements dotted about to be overlooked, but instead the florists are rising to the challenge to incorporate your personalities into your wedding day flowers and at the same time creating the WOW factor to your guests.
Monochromatic Colour Palettes
Ok so shades of peach might not be your thing, but what we saw at The Un-Wedding Shows is monochromatic colour palettes and it looks like a trend that will continue this year. That’s not to say that your colour palette might be bright, or rainbow, but if you want to incorporate this particular trend then choose YOUR favourite colour, or decide what colour you want to wear and work with hues of that. This type of styling can be very impactful and can be applied to everything from your cake to your outfits and flowers, but let it inspire you and not confine your ideas.
The Retro Comeback
One tradition which I hope will be overtaken by this current trend is the Wedding Guest Book. I can’t tell you how many people I have spoken to who have gone to the trouble of getting a beautiful guest book for their guests to write in, only to find at the end of the night that the scrawled writing is illegible or someone has spilt their drink and crumpled the pages, however I digress. The new trend is to pick up a cool receiver of a retro phone and leave a message. Not only do they look amazing, but it’s fun for your wedding guests and it means that you will be able to listen back to heartfelt messages from loved ones, as well as the funny drunken ones forever.
Decor Hardcore
There are so many alternative spaces that people are now choosing to get married in and the opportunity of a blank canvas means that you truly create whatever you want. Whether you want your initials in neon as backdrop to say I DO, bold props like a giant teacup to rest your feet from the dance floor under a glitter canopy or streamer installation in the colours of your choice, the options are endless and not only do they look sensational and create whatever atmosphere you desire but hiring them means that you can party guilt free whilst knowing you’re having a positive impact on the environment.
Remember your wedding day can take lots of ideas and inspirations to make it unique for you. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing, if Peach Fuzz is your thing, then great. And if it’s not, that’s cool too.
The overall trend that we are seeing, which I think is more of a mindset change (thanks to The Un-Wedding), is focusing more on what you want on your wedding day and making it a day that you and your guests will enjoy and remember.
