Laid Back Couple Portrait Photography In The Mojave Desert
Photography by Katherine Bree Walker
Lina and Richey met in New York City in 2018, back in the days of freedom when people could go out dancing and meet other people, y’know? The good old days.
Lina decided to head down to ‘Night Of Joy’ in Brooklyn where she was lucky enough to catch a DJ set from Richey Rose. The two got to chatting about their first love, music. Both of their respective bands were breaking up at the time, so their chance meeting served them well in more ways than one.
Almost as though the universe had planned it, they decided to keep in touch and it wasn’t long before they began making music together… Sometimes the puns just write themselves, don’t they?
After a stroll through a bookstore one day, they stumbled upon a book called "Songs for Sabotage” and named their post-pop duo after this. And of course, their debut album "Night of Joy" pays homage to their first meeting at the New York venue.
Photographer, Katherine Bree Walker of Til Death Creative Agency, was lucky enough to capture the couple for this elopement style shoot in a small town in the Mojave Desert as they drifted through.
This laid back couple portrait photography portrays Lina and Richey in their natural, rock n roll state as they wander through the desert and Joshua Tree National Park. The style is proof that you don’t need to pose awkwardly in front of the camera in order to document your love for each other. Just pick a spot where you feel like you can truly be yourselves and relax.
