Should You Feed Your Wedding Suppliers On Your Wedding Day?

A close up of a Black man eating a burger.

Is it necessary for them to feed your wedding suppliers at your wedding? I mean, wedding photographers, and some other wedding vendors are an integral part of the big day, and let’s be honest, it’s a long day!

As with anything wedding related, there are no ‘shoulds’ it’s always going to be down to the individual couple, and there is a big difference between what is required - and what is appreciated. I’m ashamed to say that this is not something we ever considered when we were getting married and I feel really bad about it. It’s not even that we wouldn’t have been prepared to feed any suppliers who were there on the day (probably only the photographer, in our case) but I’m surprised at myself for not even thinking about, or making the offer, or simply making sure that they were given time to disappear for a while and have some food, a drink, a break! And I have no doubt that they did do this but I really wish we’d looked after them better. That’s just my experience.

In this blog, let’s explore the ins and outs of feeding wedding suppliers on the big day, and answer questions regarding who should foot the bill.

What Are The Benefits Of Feeding Wedding Suppliers?

Making sure your wedding suppliers are fed on the day has multiple advantages for both parties involved. First off, it shows gratitude towards those who are helping make your special day unforgettable in their own way. Additionally, meal breaks help sustain energy levels throughout long events like weddings – both for your guests and suppliers alike! This helps ensure that everyone will have enough energy to keep up with the festivities as they unfold throughout the day or evening. And you want your suppliers to be on top form, right?

Should You Serve Your Wedding Suppliers The Same Food As Your Guests?

When thinking about food for wedding suppliers, you should consider both dietary requirements as well as delivery methods (i.e., buffet vs plated) just as you would with your wedding guests. If your venue offers a range of menu options, you may want to ask suppliers if they have any preferences or allergies before finalising details with the caterers themselves – most venues will be willing to accommodate requests from wedding photographers, given ample notice! Light snacks such as sandwiches or wraps are often an easier option that can be served during quick meal breaks when there isn’t much time for sitting down and leisurely eating a full-course dinner meal between shots or courses of food served to guests respectively. Just make sure your wedding suppliers know what their options are and where to find them.

Who Should Foot The Bill For Feeding Wedding Suppliers At Your Wedding?

Look, there are no laws when it comes to picking up the tab but it’s important that you think through these details so there won’t be any awkward surprises further down the line when unexpected expenses arise! Your suppliers will also be happy to know what to expect and where they stand. If your wedding venue won’t absorb the cost of feeding your suppliers and you don’t have the budget then your suppliers will know to bring a packed lunch and sufficient snacks. It’s all a case of being mindful and managing expectations.
