We wanted to work with UnWedding on the show styling theme reveal for our upcoming Norwich show because a) we think it’s totally her street and b) the spirit of collaboration and women supporting women is strong with this one and we look forward to lifting each other more going forward!

So without further ado - The theme for our show styling and the catwalk itself is NEW DAWN AND SILVER LININGS.

So pinned around an idea with the sun coming up after the storm. New dawn, a new day, taking stock of all that has been to start afresh. And of course, for all the terrible terrible things this past year has brought, every cloud does have a silver lining. Our renewed sense of appreciation of what we have, of each other, and the joy of being together! Fresh feels that allow us to celebrate our newfound sense of our fragile but beautiful humanness, and of course LOVE!

Ok got a bit deep there! But really and truly that is the theme of the show. AND OF COURSE THE PARTY!!

So what does that REALLY mean in terms of the styling of the show?

Well as always Most Curious and the UnWedding alike, picks up on the fashion and interiors trends that transcend the world of weddings, and right now it’s all about the chequerboard, the daisies, skyscapes (hat tip to UnWeddings foresight in their 2019 shoot!) and neon fluoro accents!

Just like in London the main styling focal point will be the catwalk styling and for this, we have worked with our dear friend and colleague, burgeoning set designer, and fine artist Gemma Goodwin. She has listened to our waffled voice-notes, deciphered our chaotic mood boards, and put together PLANS.

She has also painted the classical skyscapes (HOW DOES A HUMAN MAKE ACTUAL CLOUDS OUT OF PAINT AND PAPER??) and her hand-made plinths to follow suit. She has designed the set to be slightly offbeat and off-kilter visually with the models appearing out of the cloud scene, it’s all quite dreamlike - Dali, Da Vinci, and Magritte tied into one! She will kill me if I don't let you know these are literal sneaks peak work in progress shots sent for perusal - by no means the finished deal - but still… I mean!!!

This will be edged with burnt orange curtaining by our faves Boomting Bunting, who will take on any fabric-based challenge and smash it! They are also creating fabric installations in The Fire Pit warehouse spaces too so look out for those.

The catwalk itself will be, yep, chequerboard and we’re excited to be working with an amazing new florist on the scene Cor Bloomy, who is creating the floral dreams around the skyscapes and catwalk, as well as the model’s florals too.

Deck Above will be bringing the Daisy balloon magic (what’s a party without balloons after all!) around the venue and interspersed with Boomting’s drapes. Emotive Sound + Light are adding their lighting installations to the proceedings.

The catwalk looks will be styled by a new, rebooted team in Emily Yelverton, a London and Cambridge-based stylist and art director, assisted by soon-to-be graduating Norwich University of Arts Fashion student Ack Fashion. The clouds and dreaminess and meadowy setting of the Fire Pit will lead the looks!
