This Modern Love: Rebellious Elopement Shoot In Kelham Island, Sheffield

This Modern Love was put together by the ALMIGHTY Hushabye Films and Nicki Shea Photography for another of their Epic Killer Filler Workshops.

Killer Filler is now in its 2nd year and it’s a super creative portfolio building workshop for alternative wedding photographers and filmmakers. Can we get a HELL YEAH?!

Both Jade and Nicki are passionate about creating unique and original wedding setups that aim to inspire modern couples whilst also creating the opportunity for suppliers to try new things, learn how to direct couples, meet other fellow creatives and come away with belting images for their portfolios.

The shoot took place at The Chimney House in Sheffield's Kelham Island Quarter. This is a super-cool venue with an industrial vibe and heavenly lighting.

The theme was a modern meets art deco with cute but badass details a plenty!

The incredible gown is from fellow Book Of Love directory member Poppy Perspective who is always a firm favourite amongst our brides at THE UN-WEDDING SHOW! I mean just loooook! Phiney has always been inspired by vintage designs and antique textiles which is evident in her vintage/bohemian designs. We love the combination of the smooth silky top and the textured shim-shimmy bottom of this gown teamed perfectly but unexpectedly with a GIANT green bow from Love From Becky.

There were 5 set ups on the day to depict the various stages of a real life wedding. The suppliers even put together a cool AF boudoir shoot as an alternative to the cheesy ones we often see! If this is not the most incredible ‘wedding night’ inspo you’ve seen then we don’t know what is?!

And finally, what urban wedding would be complete without a stroll through the streets to make the most of the incredible street art and city scape backdrops?! Sheffield is a prime location for that!
